Traditional Malaysian Postpartum Belly Binding Cloth (Bengkung/Bebat Perut)
Rooted in generations of Malaysian confinement (pantang) tradition, this belly binding cloth offers gentle, natural support as your body heals and recovers after childbirth.
Woven from breathable cotton muslin, the long wraparound cloth is designed to snugly support your abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area during the postpartum period. Many mothers find that binding helps them feel more secure and supported as they move, sit, and care for their newborn in those early weeks.
Why bind postpartum?
For generations, Malaysian mothers have used bebat perut during confinement to:
- Provide gentle abdominal and lower back support after delivery
- Encourage good posture while sitting, feeding, and resting
- Offer a comforting, "held together" feeling as core muscles gradually recover
- Support the body through the natural postpartum recovery process
