About the event

This class gives pregnant moms practical, immediately usable tools from a pelvic floor physical therapist’s perspective to better use the pelvic floor during pregnancy and in preparation for labor. Class will focus on the anatomy of the pelvic floor, 360 breathing, connecting to the pelvic floor, perineal massage, exercises to prep for delivery, relaxing the pelvic floor during contractions, and pushing effectively.

Moms will leave feeling more confident in recognizing dysfunctional patterns, cueing relaxation vs. activation, and knowing simple, effective strategies that can enhance the birth experience.

Led by Dr. Alex Balthrop from Archer Physical Therapy, a group of advanced-trained physical therapists who specialize in treating the pelvic floor during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Dr. Alex brings 7 years of experience specializing in pelvic health and received her Pelvic Rehabilitation Certification through the Herman and Wallace Institute, reflecting expert knowledge and commitment to excellence.
