"The soul should always stand ajar, ready to welcome the ecstatic experience." -Emily Dickinson
WHY AM I A MIDWIFE?
Because I find childbirth fascinating.
Because it gets at the essence of life; at the fact that we're biological beings coupled with the spiritual wonder that life exists and reproduces.
Because each woman and family brings endless variation to the process of childbirth.
Because I love to work with women, to teach one-on-one, and help women and their families make informed, and hopefully empowering, decisions in their lives.
Because midwifery gives a sense of purpose to my life, I consider my life well-spent, and it makes me a better person.
Because midwifery is a way of contributing to my community and enables me to be a part of people's lives.
